My name is Ana-Marija and I am the owner, designer and seamstress of Zenaswimwear (all rolled into one). I love to sew and have been making and designing bathing suits since I was in high school. My first ever experience in designing a swimsuit was when I was 12 years old.

Here is where it all began:  I cut up some left over lycra, which my mother had from a skating costume she had made me. I proceeded by taking apart a pair of panties, laid them out and cut out a pattern. The sewing process was hilarious because I hadn't figured out how to insert an elastic. Somehow I finished the task. I had a pair of swimwear bottoms! they didn't look pretty but they worked.

As I got older, living in a very small town, I never could find a suit that I was specifically looking for.  And then on top of it all... would it fit????   At that point I decided  to start sewing my own.

My mother, was also a very big inspiration.... she was a plus size woman with ample breast size. She always had a hard time finding a bathing suit and when she did find a suit, she was simply happy that it just fit. The styles were awful and the only color choices they had were dark and dreary. I Started designing for her. Once we figured out that big can be sexy, bright, and beautiful, the journey of Zenaswimwear began.  This is my mother below in her favorite tankini style.

I have created a website, where you can become the designer..... Everything is 100% custom. Choosing fabrics, styles, and then altering them to your satisfaction. Large sizes are my specialty. I have made anywhere from a AAA to a KK bra size.

Zena swimwear is a home based business. Every single piece of swimwear is handcrafted individually, completely from scratch, and from your measurements.  In the past 12 years  there was no suit made that was identical.  I love what I do and hope to make this online experience the most comfortable, effortless and exciting for you.
